May Feature Drake Moreno

DrmProfile2Drake Moreno is a native of Los Angeles, and a grateful graduate of El Rancho High School in Pico Rivera, California. He attended Pomona College and graduated from the University of New Mexico, eventually obtaining an M.A. in Elementary Education, with emphases in Early Childhood Education, Bilingual Education and Technology. He taught students from pre-K to post-graduate, with a six-year sojourn as an organizer for the American Federation of Teachers, AFL-CIO.

Moreno’s new passion is prose and performance poetry. He pursues his long-term interests in music, books and film, martial arts, scuba, yoga, RV camping and travel, spirituality and recovery. Now retired, Moreno and his wife, Heather, moved to Tennessee in 2013 to be near their daughter, Nashville musician Alissa Moreno, and her new family.

JR Robles writes poems and plays about food, love, dogs, and other mysteries. His poetry has variously appeared in Calliope, 2nd and Church, Collage, and other places along the way. He lives in McKenzie, TN, and teaches writing and literature at Bethel University.
